AATS provides year round tennis programs to county residents of all ages

and stations in life that are:

AATS in its operations holds to the ideals of:

  • The typical ratio of teachers to pupils is 1:8 in instructional classes and clinics. The ratio increases in programs with more competition and teams.

  • Most programs are conducted on public courts

  • The Board of Directors and administrators are volunteers

OUR MISSION

Founded in 2003, the Annapolis Area Tennis School is an award-winning. Community Tennis Association (CTA) of the United States Tennis Association (USTA). AATS offers a continuum of instruction from Pee Wees through Adults.  AATS leads numerous tennis classes throughout the county, including programs for the Anne Arundel County and Annapolis Recreation and Parks Department. 

As a non-profit 501(c)3 organization, AATS promotes “Tennis for Everyone” as its mission, making tennis accessible, affordable, and possible for persons of all ages and physical capabilities.

 

AATS has worked hard at this mission for more than a dozen years.  Every year, hundreds of juniors and adults have participated in AATS programs:​

  • Supports USTA initiatives in Anne Arundel County including Junior Team Tennis, Play Days and Youth Coaching Development.

 

  • Provides a full range of clinics, camps, and clubs through the Anne Arundel County Department of Recreation and Parks, the Annapolis Department of Recreation and Parks, and residential communities.​

 

  • Offers tennis programs throughout Anne Arundel County at public schools and county parks

     

  • Provides after school tennis programs in public and private schools​

     

  • Supports the tennis fellowship throughout the county through liaison with other clubs and organizations.

 

  • Offers adaptive tennis for mentally and physically challenged players.
